Announcing Tapestry Conference 2017
We're thrilled to announce the details of the fifth annual Tapestry Data Storytelling Conference! The gathering will take place at Casa Monica in St. Augustine, Florida on March 1, 2017.
Tapestry is an invitation-only conference that brings together data-storytelling experts from academia, journalism, design, and both the private and public sectors. The event consists of a single day of keynotes, demos, poster presentations, and networking. Attendees leave the event with new connections, ideas, and inspiration to take their data-storytelling efforts to a new level. Watch this video to get a better idea of what Tapestry is all about.
We're now accepting requests for invitation to attend. Be sure to submit your request soon as spaces are limited and will fill up fast. We are also accepting proposals for short-story presentations, demos, and posters. Follow us on Twitter for further announcements and helpful links.
There's a nominal registration fee of $150 which we waive for journalists. And we'll provide transportation services for any Tapestry attendees who are headed to the 2017 NICAR Conference in Jacksonville the following day.
We're also thrilled to announce our three keynote speakers whose backgrounds demonstrate the highly cross-functional nature of this special event: Lena Groeger of Pro Publica, artist and filmmaker Neil Halloran, and Michelle Borkin of Northeastern University. Be sure to visit their respective websites to become acquainted with their work, and follow them on Twitter to join the conversation (Lena, Neil, Michelle).
We hope to see you there in March!
